Success for All Foundation Programs Ensure a “Yes” Response to All Five
of the U.S. Department of Education’s Questions

1. Drive results for students?
Will the proposed use of funds drive improved results for all students, including students with disabilities and English language learners?

Success for All Foundation Programs Are
Research-Proven.

All Success for All Foundation programs have been rigorously tested to ensure improved student-achievement results.

2. Increase capacity?
Will the proposed use of funds increase the long-term capacity of teachers, schools, and school districts to improve results
for students?

Professional Development for School Leaders and Teachers Builds Capacity for Supporting Student Achievement.
The Success for All Foundation provides extensive professional development through a coaching model focused on data-driven decision making.

3. Accelerate reform?
Does the proposed use of funds advance the state’s and district’s strategies and the research-based reform goals encompassed in ARRA?

Success for All Foundation Programs Accelerate Two of Four Reform Goals.
Through research-proven programs designed to turn around student achievement and accompanying professional development and coaching, Success for All Foundation programs:

  • Improve teacher effectiveness.
  • Provide intensive support and effective interventions for the lowest-performing schools.

4. Avoid the cliff and improve productivity?
Does the proposed use of funds take into account that ARRA funds are expected to be temporary and avoid recurring costs that states and districts are unprepared to assume when this funding ends? Given these economic times, will the proposed use of funds serve as bridge funding to help transition to more effective and efficient approaches?

Invest Early for Ongoing Success.
With all Success for All Foundation contracts, the greatest costs are incurred in the initial year of implementation because that is when the school receives the greatest amount of professional-development support and the majority of necessary materials. As a school’s implementation becomes more refined, the Success for All Foundation gradually lessens the amount of support provided because the school has the structures and staff capacity in place to provide quality instruction independently and over the long term.

5. Track results?
Does the proposed use of funds include approaches to measure and track implementation and results, modify strategies based on evidence, and discontinue strategies that do not lead to improved student results? Are the possible effects of the ARRA resources being evaluated and improved over time?

Success for All Foundation Goal-Focused Implementation Process as a Continuous Improvement Model
The Success for All Foundation’s Goal-Focused Implementation Process focuses schools on the use of data to improve instruction and, thus, student achievement.  School leaders are trained to continually use the Goal-Focused Implementation Process to refine their program implementation and are provided with data tools through program assessments and our Member Center. This ongoing emphasis on data allows the school to constantly adjust their program implementation to ensure that it is working for students.
